Intensive Mixers

Our intensive mixer is synonymous with optimum mixing technology:

The EIRICH Intensive Mixer is known throughout the world. It replaced the ring trough mixer (1906) and the planetary mixer (1924), and over the course of its continuous further development it has become synonymous with optimum mixing technology. The outstanding feature of the EIRICH intensive mixer is that it separates the transportation of the mix from the actual mixing process.

This results in numerous process design advantages which make EIRICH intensive mixers unique throughout the world and have led to them being used in over 300 branches of industry.

The mixing pan can be arranged either horizontally or at an optimized angle of inclination to suit the particular requirements.

  • Product Details:

    For:

    • Granulating* / Pelletizing / Agglomerating
    • Kneading / Plasticizing
    • Dispersing / Slurrying
    • Hydrophobing

EIRICH Intensive Mixing Technology offers the following:

    • The mixing tool can be run variably, at low or high speed
    • The power input into the mix can thus be adapted specifically to the process material
    • "Hybrid" mixing processes become possible, eg: slow - fast - slow
    • High tool speeds allow, for instance
      • fibers to be disintegrated optimally
      • pigments to be ground perfectly, fine components to be mixed optimally
      • suspensions to be produced with a high solids content
    • Medium tool speeds allow high-quality mixtures to be produced
    • Low tool speeds allow lightweight aggregates or foams to be mixed-in gently
    • The mixer mixes without de-mixing effects; 100 % material circulation during one rotation of the mixing pan
    • Optimal mixing effects without using high-speed rotating choppers
    • Various consistencies can be processed in one and the same mixer
    • Materials of any kind and consistency are prepared in short time and high quality
    • Bonding agents and pigment amounts can often be reduced (better distribution)
    • Scrap is reduced substantially
    • Considerably less wear compared to other mixers

Eirich Mixing System Advantages

The quality of your end product can never be better than the quality of the mixture!

Because the preparation process is separate from the transportation of the mixture during the process, it is possible to vary the speed of the mixing tool (and therefore the power input into the mixture) within broad limits. The mixing tool can run at variable speeds - from fast to slow. This allows the power input into the mixture to be adapted to the specific mix. It also enables "hybrid" mixing processes, such as slow – fast – slow.

The advantages for the mixed product:

  • Higher tool speeds can be used for example to
    • optimally solubilize fibers
    • completely pulverize pigments
    • optimize mixing of fine fractions
    • manufacture suspensions with a high solid content
  • Medium tool speeds are used to
    • achieve mixtures with a high mixture quality
  • At lower tool speeds
    • lightweight additives or foams can be gently added to the mixture

The advantages for production:

  • The rugged design guarantees outstanding service life and high reliability
  • Wear elements are easily accessible and therefore easily exchangeable
  • The seals are not in direct contact with the product

Feedback from Eirich customers confirms:

  • Materials of all types and consistency can be processed quickly and at high quality
  • Improved distribution of additives
  • Waste is significantly reduced
  • Levels of wear are significantly lower
  • Availability of the system is greatly increased

Granulating / Pelletizing

Granulating technology, pelletizing technology

Our granulating and pelletizing mixers perform mixing and granulating/pelletizing in a single machine.

Eirich has comprehensive know-how in granulating and pelletizing technology. Our intensive mixers are designed as granulating and pelletizing mixers which produce predictable and reproducible grain sizes. Just one machine is needed to carry out the two process steps: mixing and granulating/pelletizing. The entire process can be performed in a normal atmosphere and in a vacuum. Service-proven machines are available for the classical build-up pelletizing of fine-grain materials and powdery materials.

Our machines are used mainly in the following fields:

  • Ceramics: Molding compounds, molecular strainers, proppants, varistor compounds, dental compounds, cutting ceramics, grinding agents, oxide ceramics, grinding balls, ferrites, etc.
  • Building materials: Porosity agents for bricks, expanded clay, pearlite, etc.
  • Glass: Glass powder, carbon, lead glass mixtures, etc.
  • Metallurgy: Zinc and lead ore, aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, iron ore, etc.
  • Agricultural chemistry: Lime hydrate, dolomite, phosphate fertilizer, peat fertilizer, mineral compounds, sugar beet seeds, etc.
  • Environmental protection: Cement filter dusts, fly ash, slurries, dusts, lead oxide, etc.

Batch Mixing

The quality of your end product can never be better than the quality of the mixture!

In contrast to other mixing systems, the throughput rate and mixing intensity of Eirich intensive batch mixers can be adjusted independently of each other.

  • The mixing tool can run at variable speeds from fast to slow
  • This allows the power input into the mixture to be adapted to the specific mix
  • Hybrid mixing processes are made possible e.g. slow – fast – slow
  • Higher tool speeds can be used for example to:
    • optimally solubilize fibers
    • completely pulverize pigments, optimize mixing of fine fractions
    • manufacture suspensions with a high solid content
  • Medium tool speeds are used to achieve mixtures with a high mixture quality
  • At low tool speeds, lightweight additives or foams can be gently added to the mixture

The mixer mixes without separating the mixture; 100 % material agitation during each revolution of the mixing pan. Eirich intensive batch mixers are available in two series with a usable volume ranging from 1 to 12,000 liters.

  • Mixers with a usable volume between 1 and 12,000 liters
  • Mixers with a usable volume of 1 / 5 / 10 liters (laboratory mixers)
  • Mixers with a tilting mixing pan
  • Mixers with a mixing pan cover which folds open

Continuous Mixing

The quality of your end product can never be better than the quality of the mixture!

In contrast to other mixing systems, the throughput rate and mixing intensity of Eirich continuous intensive mixers can be adjusted independently of each other.

In the process,

  • the variable rotating speed of the mixing tools
  • the variable rotating speed of the mixing pan
  • the exact adjustment of the material dwell period during the mixing process

offer particular advantages for the overall result. Even during startup of the mixing processes, the system ensures that no material which is unmixed or only partially mixed leaves the mixer.

Eirich continuous intensive mixers are available in two series with a usable volume ranging from 75 to 12,000 liters.
