All-in-one process reactors: mix, dry, react

Reacting, drying, vacuum drying, or any combination thereof can be achieved in a single vacuum/pressure capable vessel with ASME heating/cooling jacket, plow or paddle agitator and high-speed choppers.

Our vacuum dryer / dryer reactor, equipped with a fully swept cylindrical shell with flat endplates, limits build-up of adhesive or wetted powders, filter cakes and sludges. The turbulent action of the vacuum dryer / dryer reactors agitator creates high particle transport ideal for adding liquids, coating, or chemical reactions.

The cylindrical mixer shell on our vacuum dryer / dryer reactor lends itself to applications requiring full vacuum and/or pressures to 700 PSI. A choice of jacket designs on the vacuum dryer / dryer reactor allows indirect heating/drying/cooling with temperatures to 700°F. Material choices include 304/316 SS, 304L/316L SS, RA2205 Duplex Stainless, Hastelloy, Alloy 20, Inconel plus various synergistic coatings such as Halar & Kynar and AR-200/AR-400.  The vessel is also suitable for live steam injection to cook, hydrate or sterilize.

By varying the speed of the vacuum dryer / dryer reactor rotor throughout the drying curve, we can keep wetted, pasty, or slurried products in contact with the heated shell for better heat transfer. The addition of vacuum lowers the bound or unbound liquid's boiling point allowing for lower thermal processing (important for heat sensitive materials) and quicker drying times.

Instrumentation/Controls

State-of-the-art controls systems including: PLC’s, HMI’s, sequential programming, variable frequency drives (VFD’s), soft starters, trending, data logging, hazardous location & intrinsically safe design.

Heater/Chiller (must be supplied)

Transfers heat to or from the jacketed vessel and maintains a constant and proper temperature.

Heavy Duty Mixing Vessel

Construction materials include corrosion resistant stainless steel, standard stainless steel, abrasion resistant carbon steel & wear coatings such as tungsten carbide.

Gear Motor

Direct drive motor provides a quieter, more reliable design and requires less maintenance than belt driven mixers.

Pulse-Back Filter

Dimple jacketed shell heats pulse-back filter to keep membrane sleeve dry to maintain their efficiency. Totally enclosed, self-cleaning pulse-back filters efficiently evacuate solvents and return dust back to the vessel.

Solvent Recovery System (must be supplied)

Vapor is condensed downstream where it can be re-claimed, treated or re-purposed.

Wrapper

Optional fully welded jacket wrappers with insulation are available to improve heat transfer.

Vacuum Pump (must be supplied)

Provides vacuum to the entire system. Evacuates solvents and reduces the pressure required to dry the product. * Denotes equipment purchased through our strategic partner base

ASME Certified Jacketing

Dimple or half-pipe for steam, hot oil, hot water or chilled water.

Fluidizing Paddle Agitator

Unique design creates a fluidized bed allowing more efficient thermal processing. Optional removable paddles are available for easier cleaning and / or replacement.

Chopper(s)

High-speed choppers break agglomerates to facilitate exposure of the surface area of the particle.

Side Entry Door(s)

Easy cleaning and access to all internal parts of the mixer. (not suitable for pressure applications)
