Let APS be a vital part of your mix

The market for vitamins and supplements has exploded in recent years. It is a booming market and anticipated to grow even further. American Process Systems® offers mixing equipment used for blending dietary supplements and vitamin powder pre-mixes.

Pre-mixes may include vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or difficult to process amino acids. Wet ingredients including vitamins may be added to the blend through atomizing spray nozzles. Dietary supplements include products such as meal supplements, sports nutrition products, natural food supplements, and other related products.

Manufacturers face various challenges when blending vitamins and supplements. One factor that is crucial for consistent product quality is ensuring that all ingredients, with varying bulk density, particle sizes, and shapes, are uniformly distributed throughout the mix.  Our APS best-in-class sanitary blenders, manufactured in Gurnee, IL, are perfectly suited to handle this challenge and produce a perfectly homogeneous mix, batch after batch.

Which type of blender should you use for vitamin pre-mixes?

We usually recommend using a fluidizing paddle blender (FPB) or a fluidizing zone mixer (FZM) when mixing vitamin pre-mixes and supplements. These type of blenders provide several advantages, including:

  • Increased productivity.
  • Ability to blend ingredients of various bulk density, size, and shape.
  • Protection of fragile ingredients.
  • Low CV values.
  • Batch size flexibility.

But every application is different, and in some cases a plow blender or a ribbon blender is a better fit. Or, why not put our equipment to the test and do a mixing trial in our test lab

Whether you process large batches, many different ingredients, or are doing R&D and trying new recipes, we have the blender for you. Whichever type of APS blender you choose, it can be customized to fit your specific application perfectly.
